How Do I Start the Treatment Process at Ketamine Clinics Los Angeles?

Starting your journey towards improving your mental health can feel overwhelming, but at Ketamine Clinics Los Angeles (KCLA), we strive to make the process as smooth and accessible as possible. Whether you’re considering Ketamine Infusion Therapy for depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, PPD, or another condition, we’re here to help you every step of the way. Here’s how you can get started.

Initial Contact: Free Phone Consultation

The first step in your treatment process is a free phone consultation with one of our care coordinators. This initial conversation will provide an opportunity for us to get to know you and your needs and help you assess whether or not ketamine therapy is a good option to continue exploring.

We’ll explain how Ketamine Therapy works, discuss pricing options, give you a basic overview of what to expect, and answer your questions. Understanding your medical history and treatment needs helps us determine whether our services, such as PTSD Ketamine Therapy or intravenous depression relief, are a suitable fit. We want to ensure that you feel confident and well-informed before moving forward.

Medical Release

If you’re interested in proceeding after your free consultation, the next step is to provide a medical release. This allows us to communicate with your current healthcare provider(s) to understand your medical background and treatment history better. We do not require a referral from any of your other providers, nor do they have to be knowledgeable about ketamine for depression or ketamine for mental health. We make providing a medical release quick and easy! It’s a one-page document we’ll email you to sign on your phone or computer in less than two minutes.

Free Medical Consultation

Once you’ve had your initial free phone consultation, you’ll be scheduled for a more in-depth, free medical consultation with a licensed medical professional from our team. This could be a board-certified psychiatrist or a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, both of whom bring a wealth of knowledge and experience about ketamine infusions and mental health. This step is crucial for discussing detailed clinical considerations and getting answers to any complex questions you might have about your treatment options. You and the clinical provider will determine whether or not ketamine therapy is a good fit for your needs.

Our two-tier consultation process ensures that you receive diverse perspectives and comprehensive information, all at no cost to you. This added layer of care and expertise is a significant value that sets KCLA apart from other ketamine treatment centers.

Scheduling Your Treatment

After your free medical consultation, your KCLA Provider will invite you to schedule your ketamine treatment at the end of that call in real-time, so long as it’s determined to be a good fit for you. Our process is streamlined to make everything as quick and easy as possible. You won’t need to visit the clinic in person until the day of your first Ketamine Infusion session. Any required paperwork can be completed online in advance, minimizing your time spent on administrative tasks in the office.

Your First Visit: What to Expect

On the day of your first visit, we want you to feel comfortable and well-prepared. During your visit, you’ll complete any intake paperwork you didn’t finish online in advance and be assessed by your KCLA Provider. The medical team at KCLA is the best in this field, and they will answer any questions you may have and prepare you for the experience.

Once you’re ready, we’ll connect you to a vital sign monitor, establish an IV, make you comfortable in a premium recliner with pillows, blankets, noise-canceling headphones, a sleep mask, an unlimited selection of relaxing music, and start your IV ketamine infusion. You can look forward to what is usually a transformative, healing experience in a safe, serene setting. The environment has been curated to enhance the therapeutic effects of ketamine, providing you with a calming and supportive space.

After your infusion is complete, your KCLA Care Team will offer you juice, water, and crackers to help ensure a comfortable recovery. They will talk with you about your experience to help you integrate it and ensure you are stable before you leave.

Convenience and Accessibility

We understand that navigating mental health care can often be daunting. Therefore, we aim to make every step of the process as straightforward and hassle-free as possible. From our free consultations to our efficient scheduling and comfortable treatment environment, every aspect of our service is designed with your well-being in mind.

We’ve contracted with ten of California’s largest health insurance networks to make our services more accessible. While ketamine infusions remain a non-covered service with most payers at this time, some health networks do cover the cost, and most will cover other aspects of your overall care with us. Whether you’re considering ketamine for depression, ketamine for PTSD, ketamine for anxiety, or something else, we want to ensure you can access the care you need without unnecessary barriers.

Every call is treated with the utmost confidentiality and care, ensuring that every question and concern is addressed.

Why Choose Ketamine Clinics Los Angeles?

Choosing a treatment center is significant, and KCLA offers several compelling advantages. Our clinic, Co-Founded by Dr. Steven L. Mandel and CEO Sam Mandel in 2014, has delivered over 30,000 ketamine infusions with an 83% success rate to more than 6,000 patients. We are also the first and only ketamine clinic accredited by Quad A, ensuring the highest safety, efficacy, and patient satisfaction standards.

As one of the first ketamine clinics to open in the US in 2014, KCLA has pioneered ketamine for mental health. We individualize treatment, provide longer infusions than most other clinics, and provide a higher level of service and 1:1 ratio of clinician per patient for extra time and attention, only employ licensed medical professionals for your care, ensure each patient receives a private room with premium comfort, utilize digital syringe pumps instead of IV bags for increased precision, and so much more.

In addition to ketamine infusion services, we offer Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Management, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). We’re also excited about the future potential of other psychedelics, like MDMA and psilocybin, aiming to integrate these into our practice once they become legally available.
